Why should I volunteer? |
Research conclusively shows that students do better in school both academically and behaviorally when a family member is involved.
There are many opportunities available for family members (e.g. siblings, grandparents, aunts, uncles) to volunteer. Many of our volunteer opportunities qualify as community service hours for junior high and high school students.
Contact the PTA Volunteer Coordinator or your child’s teacher to find out about the numerous volunteer opportunities. Some require you to be at the school during instructional hours (8:30-3:15), some can be done at home and/or in the evening, some are short term tasks others are long term. All are important.
May I bring my toddler when I volunteer at Armstrong?
Armstrong now has a "Sunshine Room" where volunteers with small children can go while you complete your task. Contact the PTA Volunteer Coordinator or your child’s classroom teacher.
Who should I contact if I have more questions?
Fill out the volunteer interest form and send it to school with your child. You may also contact The PTA Volunteer Coordinator
